The full form of CDS is stand for Combined Defence Services Examination.
What is in CDS?
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Conducts the CDS exam to select candidates for admission to Indian Military Academy( IMA) , Indian Naval Academy ( INA), Air force Academy (AFA), and officers Training Academy OTA.
CDS full form is combined Defense services but some people also refer CDS full form as chief Defence Staff, this rank is given by head of the Indian Armed forces.
The Cds exam is conducted twice a year in April and September. It is a national-level exam conducted to recruit candidates for officer posts. The exam is performed in 2 modes written or SSB.
Eligibility is needed in CDS :
To be eligible for the CDS exam, candidates need to fulfill the following CDS eligibility parameters:
1. For Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air force Academy, unmarried male candidates born not earlier than January 2, 1999, and not later than January 1, 2004, are eligible to apply.
2. The age limit of offers for Academy training is 19 to 25 years.
3. Here are the required educational qualifications for the joint defense Academy exam-
For IMA AND OTA, the candidates must have a degree from a recognized University.
For INA, candidates must have an engineering degree from a recognized University.
For Admission, to the Air Force Academy a candidate must have a Bachelor of Engineering degree form a recognized university.
The physical need for CDS:
1. CDS Candidate must be physically and mentally fit.
2. Permanent tattoo on their body is prohibited for the candidates of CDS exam.
3. there should not be hemia anywhere on the body of the candidates.
4. candidates should not have any diseases.
5. Hearing Impairment Disability-Ear vestibule cochlear system is not required for joint defense Acadmey Aspirant.
Structure of exam:
The mode of CDS exam is offline I pen or paper mode.
The candidates have two stages of the CdS exam-
1. written
2. SSB
3. the exam duration of CDS Exam is 2 hours for each paper.
CDS exam is conducted in both the language-English and Hindi.
4. This exam pattern for CDS Exams:
There will be 340 MCQ for the exam for IMA, AFA,INA
There will be 240 MCQS for the officer Training Academy Exam.
